Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2026
What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the service:
- Passkey sign-in: a public key credential stored on your device. No name, email, or personal information is collected.
- Google sign-in: a unique identifier issued by Google (your Google Account ID). No name, email address, or profile picture is requested or stored.
- Display name: optional. Set by you. Empty means you appear as “Anonymous” everywhere on the site.
- Verse notes: stored privately by default. Only visible to others if you explicitly mark an individual note as public.
- Comments: stored with your account and subject to moderation. You choose whether to show your display name or appear anonymously.
- Questions you submit: the question text is stored and used to generate an article. It is not linked to your account publicly.
What we do not collect
- Email addresses
- IP addresses or location data
- Device identifiers or browser fingerprints
- Advertising or tracking cookies
Your defaults
Everything is private by default. Specifically:
- Your display name is not shown publicly unless you set one and enable “show name publicly” in settings.
- Your verse notes are private unless you individually mark them as public.
- Public notes and comments show either your display name or “Anonymous” — whichever you prefer.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The only external services involved are:
- Google OAuth — used only to verify your identity. We receive a single opaque identifier; Google does not receive your activity on this site.
Data retention
Your account and its associated notes remain until you delete them or request account deletion. To delete your account, contact us via the Feedback page.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
